It is my pleasure to welcome you to ICM Learning Academy. ICM Learning Academy has been educating students from around the globe with a focus on inculcating in them love of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. In addition to teaching Basic Rules of Quran (Qaida) ICM Learning Academy offers a rich Arabic, Qur’anic, and Islamic studies programs. We also have an entire department dedicated solely for memorizing the Holy Quran (the Tahfeeth program) with proper tajweed and sustaining methods. Our staff and administration are committed to helping each and every student work to their full potential. Our Academy strives in placing a high emphasis on Rules of Tajweed, Memorization, Proper Recitation and Islamic Studies. Nothing can be more effective in motivating the students and sustaining success in the school than celebrating the students’ accomplishments. Celebrating success in the school system regularly breeds more success. It invites every student, teacher, and parent to join the team to celebrate improvements in academics, character, and leadership. As the ICM Learning Academy Administrator, I am more than willing to do all it takes to make our academy an outstanding institution, where our students are nurtured through mind and soul. Our instructors are all located in the USA and trained in providing online courses for non-Arabic speaking Muslims.

At ICM Learning Academy we provide different approaches and options with regards to our course offerings intended to maximize student participation and cater to different ages, cultures, and genders. The courses are designed with practicality in mind; and are riddled with practical exercises that help ensure student mastery of learning objectives through performance rather than theoretical knowledge.

We utilize the newest methodologies and software in our curriculum development approach, keeping our students engaged and enthusiastic throughout the learning process.

Special needs kids are also welcome. We give individual counseling sessions and our students are encouraged with gifts at each milestone.

We provide a one on one offering for teaching practical Quran (and Arabic in the future) which has the advantages of being:

STANDARD VIRTUAL CLASSROOM
Our courses provided in virtual classroom format allow students to interact actively with engaging and animated slides. In addition to that, our teachers guide students through each learning point and ensure that learning objectives are mastered. We train our teachers to deal with Muslims of different cultures and take a practical approach towards education

Meet our staff

Anila Zindani

Program Director

My name Anila Zindani, I am one of the Board Members as well as the Program Director of ICM. I have been associated with this organization since its start in 2013. We are the one of the first pioneers to start the Quran reading (Nazirah) and Quran memorization (Hifz) program in the Greater Cincinnati area with few teachers and students. But, by the grace of Allah SWT, we are now an organization of more than 25 teachers and over 200 students. Our school went online within two days of Covid -19 pandemic and are able to cater to not only local but also overseas students.

I finished my studies from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have been living in the Greater Cincinnati area for the past 35 years. I am passionate about community services and have been associated with many women’s organizations and worked as a Weekend Islamic School teacher in various masaajid.

My aspiration is to make Qur’an education reach to everyone irrespective of financial status and background.

My name is Hafsa Ahmed. I did a 1-year Diploma course at Taleem al Quran from Al Huda Institute. I worked as a Quran teacher in various masaajid and have teaching experience of 6 yrs. I am passionate about teaching Quran and Tajweed. I like to use flash cards and fun games as teaching tools for my students. I have been a part of ICM from past four years and from past 1yr I am working as ICM Admin. My administrative duties include managing all ICM Classes, handling fees, setting curriculum for the school and teacher’s management. In my free time I like to spend time with my family. I am a mother of three boys and I have lived in West Chester Ohio for the last 11 years.

Yahya Hansbhai

Hifz Teacher

My name is Yahya Hansbhai. I have been working in ICM as a Hifz teacher for the past 5yrs. I completed Hifz-ul-Quran at the age of 17 and I have also obtained an ijaza in Qira’ah (recitation) in the tradition of Hafs ‘an’ Asim in Egypt. I am currently working to complete a degree in Business Administration. I like to aspire my students to learn as much about the Deen and Quran as they can, so they live a life based on the principles set forth in Islam. I have been a resident of the Cincinnati area for around 3 decades. I have been instrumental in teaching Quran and Tajweed to children and adults, as well as leading Taraweeh and salawat in various masaajid throughout the region. I have been a regular guest on judging panels for Quranic competitions. Additionally, I am a chaplain serving correctional institutions in the area.

Moaaz Hafiz

My name Moaaz Hafiz. I have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Abu Dhabi University. I memorized the Quran at the age of 13 year from Ubay Ibn Kaab Mosque. I have worked as a Hifz teacher in “Abu Dhabi institute for memorizing Quran” and “RiyadAl Saleheen Institute”. I have 4 years of teaching experience. My desire is to teach the Holy Quran to a new generation. My objective is to motivate my students so that they ponder upon the noble words of Allah and make it part of their daily routine. I am friendly, supportive, and believed in new ideas, group work and activity planning.

Eman Mousa

My name is EmanMousa, I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from Higher Institute of Social Work Cairo. I worked as a kindergarten teacher in an Islamic school in Egypt for 7 years. I have been working in Greater Cincinnati for about 15 years, where I teach Arabic and Qur’anic studies. I have been working at ICM for the past two years. The most important thing is to be patient with the students. I also believe that encouraging the students motivates them to do better in class as well as telling them when they do something right not just when they make a mistake so that they know you notice their improvements!

Heba Hawas

I am Heba Hawas. My goal is to see my students read the Quran effortlessly with Tajweed and understand what they are reading. I like to teach in an easy, simple, and funny way and I believe repetition with intensity is the key to success.I have a bachelor’s degree in Arts & Education and Diploma in Dental assisting. I have completed the Qaeda Noorania and Tajweed course. I have 4-year teaching experience in Egypt, and I have been taking Islamic studies, Quranic studies, and Tajweed in the Greater Cincinnati area. I am a person who has patience and enjoys working hard and enjoys helping others.

Hina Moien

My Name is Hina Moien. I did my B.Sc. in Psychology and completed Montessori Teachers Training Diploma. I did a 4-year Diploma course of Taleem al Quran from Al Huda Online Institute of Canada. I Worked as a Kindergarten teacher for a year. Currently I am a student of Bayyinah Institute. I have a passion to teach Tafsir, Seerah and Quranic grammar. My aim in life is to pass on the essential knowledge of Quran, that I have learnt from my respected teachers to the vibrant youth of our community so that Insha Allah this Noble Book, the ‘Quran’ becomes accessible to our children from a young and tender age. May Allah forgive our shortcomings and grant us the ability to pass the legacy of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) to our next generation. Amen

Hareem Qureshi

Young Muslimah Mentor

Sister Hareem Qureshi is Young Muslimah Class teacher at Islamic Center of Mason (ICM) teaching Quran (Tajweed and Tafseer), Seerah (Interactive Youth sessions) and short Duas based on Al-Huda Institute Youth Courses. She loves learning and teaching to young Muslimah girls. She has been with ICM for 3 years and enjoys being a part of Young Muslimah Class as preparing for class lessons gives her another opportunity to dig into the subjects. She recently made a Young Muslimah class website with the goal of Learning a life to Live by. Sister Hareem recently started her Islamic Education from Al-Huda Institute Online. Currently, she is taking Taleemul Quran course and Seerah Youth Course at Al-Huda Institute. She feels the urge to teach whatever she is learning to convey the message of our Deen to our youth. She has completed her bachelors in Biological Sciences with focus on Bioinformatics and Chemistry minor from the City University of New York – Hunter College. She is also learning more about UX/UI to pursue a career in this field as well. She is a mother of a little baby girl and lives with her husband in West Chester, Ohio. She likes to write and travel with her family in her free time.

My passion for teaching the Quran comes from the Hadith “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it”.I have completed my Tajweed course in Egypt. I love sharing my passion for Quran with people of all ages and seeing them improve day by day.

My name is Heym Ahmed Alhalabe. I was born in Kuwait and  lived there for more than 45 years .I graduated from the Institute of Islamic Studies in Kuwait in 2004. I was a teacher at primary school from 2004 to 2011.
I taught Arabic and the Quran to the children of age five and seven years too.

My name is Ayesha Zeeshan. I have a Taleem-Ul-Quran Diploma in Islamic Education from Al-Huda International Institute of Education USA. I also have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from GC University (Pakistan). I also have been a part of many short Islamic Tafseer, Seerah and Tajweed courses from AlHuda and AlNoor Institutes. I have been working in a Corporate Administration setting since 2 years.

I have been a teacher for 5 years teaching Computer Science classes and others. I have recently joined ICM Learning Academy as a Quran and Tajweed Teacher.

Being as a multilingual I am able to accommodate people who speak English and Urdu.

My name is Hoda Elkaim. I obtained my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. I also graduated from Preparation Preachers Institute, Ministry of Endowments. My mother tongue is Arabic. I have Ijazah [Hafs and Shuaba]. I got a Diploma for teaching Tajweed to non-Arabic speakers. I have a certificate for Qaeda Noorania (Noor Al-Bayan). I finished a Tajweed course and an Articulation Course. I work as a Quran teacher in Al-Quran Institute, UK.

My name is Tahira Khan. I have a master’s degree in Math from University of Punjab, Pakistan, and master’s degree in secondary Math education from Xavier university Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently I hold 7-12 integrated math license for adolescents to young adults for the state Ohio. I’m working as a mathematics teacher at a public charter school and as ACT/SAT tutor.I have been working as a teacher and tutor for about 22 year now and have been tutoring ACT/SAT test prep since 2013. I also had worked at Huntington Learning Center as a SAT/ACT tutor. I have been tutoring ACT/SAT test prep here at ICM from past 1 yr.

Waqas Rafiq

Quran and Arabic teacher

I am Waqas Rafiq. I have a master’s degree in English Literature from The University of Punjab Pakistan. I also have a master’s degree In Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales, Cardiff United Kingdom. I have been working in a corporate sector since 8 years.
I travelled to Egypt, memorized the Holy Quran and obtained Ijazah (an accredited certificate that grants its holder the authority of transmitting and teaching Quran recitation with tajweed or Quran Memorization according to Ijazah type). I have been the student of Al-Azhar University learning Arabic language and Quran. I have also obtained the Certificate of 14 levels intensive course in Classical Arabic Language from Fajar Center for the Arabic Language Cairo, Egypt accredited and affiliated with the Ministry of Education Egypt.
I have been a teacher for many years and now I have joined ICM for the teaching of Quran and Arabic Language. Being a multilingual, I can accommodate those who speak English, Urdu and Arabic.

Deen for Teens and Youth Program Coordinator

Br. Goher Mahmud was born and raised in Minneapolis, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Honors from the University of Minnesota.

He then moved to Chicago to pursue higher education and completed his Masters and Doctorate in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University.

During graduate school, he concurrently began his study of Sacred Knowledge under various scholars, with an emphasis on learning Islamic Spirituality.

Dr. Mahmud currently works in Research and Development at Procter and Gamble, and resides in Cincinnati with his wife and children. During his free time, he enjoys mentoring youth and serving the community.

Wasiq Sheikh

Wasiq Sheikh

Deen for Teens

Wasiq Sheikh was born in Houston, TX and completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained the Thanawiyyah degree from The Al Noor Institute of Islamic Sciences in Houston led by Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Faizanul Mustafa Qadri. There, he covered fundamentals in Arabic grammar and morphology, Hanafi jurisprudence, and hadith. He also studied with other local scholars privately covering other sciences. He currently works as an application engineer and lives in the greater Cincinnati, OH area with his family.
